Q. Which examination board do we follow?
Ans: At SH.BVM Convent we have opted for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The prime focus of the Board is on:

  1. Innovations in teaching-learning methodologies by devising students friendly and students centered paradigms.
  2. Reforms in examinations and evaluation practices.
  3. Skill learning by adding job-oriented and job-linked inputs.

Q. How are the parents involved in the child development?
Ans: SH.BVM Convent encourages harmonious interaction in thinking and approach between the parents and the school. The school continuously opens channels of communication between parents and the teachers. We also organize various workshops on issues such as parenting, understanding curriculum and children needs. The parents are also invited to participate in celebrations & important events. The overall purpose is to enable positive collaborative efforts to build on the child's strengths.

Q. What is Primary Curriculum ? Ans. The curriculum is learner-centered. It emphasizes the importance of literacy, numeracy, and language, while at the same time responding to changing needs in science and technology, social personal and health education, and citizenship.

Q. How much time on an average does a student spend on physical activities?
Ans: Children spend 45 minutes each day in the outdoors. The outdoor curriculum is designed to enable children to discover new aspects of their own agility, endurance, physical strength, mental strength, stamina and team spirit. A range of sport activities are organized each day to help children connect with their inner desire to stretch, climb, run, jump, fall and strive to discover new limits and new challenges. As children grow, new skills are acquired through a specific sports curriculum that is planned keeping in focus age relevant physical capacities and potential.

Q. What is the pupil -teacher ratio ?
Ans: To work closely with children and to understand the needs of each child the school teacher-pupil ratio is kept as 1:35

Q. What evaluation system does we follow at the Pre primary, Primary and Middle School levels?
Ans: SH.BVM Convent follows a Continuous, Comprehensive and Evaluation (CCE) system. Children of Class VI are gradually introduced to a unit assessment system as prescribed under CBSE guidelines. A thoughtfully facilitated evaluation system allows children to view tests and examinations as processes in their experience of school education.
At pre-primary level students are evaluated on number of criteria i.e. classroom interactions; project work; peer relations; the questions that children ask; their participation in a range of school related experiences; engagement with art, drama, music and sports; formal and informal work conducted in the class and at home. There will be no ranking of a student and it will be the responsibility of the whole class to understand what is been taught.

Q. Does SH BVM Convent cater to children with special needs?
Ans: SH.BVM Conventis non-judgmental to any student. In case if any student requires special attention then we have extra classes for him where different approach will be applied to make him understand and this will be shared with the parents as they are a part of honing the student. On the contrary, our purpose is to identify the child's present set of strengths and build on them as per the range of developmental norms.

Q Do we provide transport service ?
Ans: Yes, Transport facility is available to all the areas of Taraori for children.

Q What admission procedure is followed? How can I register my ward’s name for admission?When do I apply for my ward’s admission?
Ans: You can download the registration form from the website or can collect it from the school campus. The form should be completed and submitted along with the required documents .Admissions will be started from February onwards.

Q. How many students are allotted per class?
Ans: Maximum 35 students will be allotted per class.

Q. What are the criteria or minimum standards that you have for choosing and selecting the teachers? Ans: We will follow CBSE guidelines.

Q. What are the medical facilities being offered for students? Ans: We will have a Doctor on contract, Sick Room and basic first-aid facilities on campus, if any emergency occur’ll take student to the hospital.

Q. Which are the grades for which the admissions can be sought?
Ans: Admissions are open from Nursery to 9th class.

Q. What are the documents required for admission? Ans:

  2. 5 Recent passport size photographs.
  3. Registration fee.
  4. School Reports: Photocopies of the previous year report card.
  5. Transfer Certificate.

Ans: Around 7-10 students are allotted to the teacher,who will take care of them as there parents, monitor their academic progress & attitudes of his/her wards and attends to their requirements- physical, academic and emotional. They are positive counselors too.

Q. How a student is monitored if he is weak in a subject?
Ans: We will provide extra classes to the student for the particular subject.
